Who Licenses Fair Go Casino?
A licence is only worth what it makes an operator do. Here is what ours makes us do.

We are licensed in Curacao. The licence is where our checks come from: identity verification before any payout, withdrawals only to the account holder, and independent auditing of the generator behind the games. It is an offshore licence, not an Australian one, and that has consequences worth knowing.
What does the licence oblige us to do?
| Obligation | What you see of it |
|---|---|
| Confirm every player is 18 or over | The identity check before your first withdrawal |
| Pay only the account holder | Withdrawals go to accounts the registered holder owns and controls |
| Guard against money laundering | Requests for proof of address and, sometimes, of a card |
| Have the generator tested independently | Outcomes that ignore stake, session and account |
| Offer tools for staying in control | Deposit limits and self-exclusion, both arranged through support |
What can an offshore licence not do for you?
It is worth being plain about this. Our licence is held in Curacao, not in Australia, and Australian regulators do not rule on disputes with businesses licensed offshore. BetStop, the register Australians use to shut themselves out of betting sites, only reaches companies licensed here, so it does not reach us.
What stands in their place is narrower but real. Inside the account: a deposit limit our support team applies when you ask, and a self-exclusion that is not lifted before its term is up. Outside it: the gambling block in your banking app. And for a disagreement, a complaint route that starts on live chat and, for a disputed result, has to be in writing within fourteen days.
Where does Australian law stand for a player?
The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 is aimed at businesses, not at the people who play. It limits which companies may offer online casino games to Australians, and the regulator can act against a company that ignores it, up to having its site blocked by internet providers. Nothing in it makes playing an offence for an adult.
Money won gambling for recreation is generally not counted as income for Australian tax. Treat that as general information: an accountant can tell you how it applies to you.
Verify early, keep your own record of deposits and withdrawals, and put any disagreement in writing from the first day. With an offshore licence, your paperwork is the backstop.
Also asked
Is it legal for me to play?
Playing is not an offence for an adult in Australia; the law is aimed at businesses. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do I pay tax on what I win?
Generally not, if you gamble for recreation. An accountant can confirm your own position.
Can an Australian regulator settle a dispute with you?
No. They do not rule on disputes with businesses licensed offshore, which is why a complaint is made to us, in writing, and in time.
How old do I have to be?
18 or over, enforced by a photo ID check before any withdrawal rather than by a tick box.
Does BetStop apply here?
No. It covers operators licensed in Australia. Our own self-exclusion covers this account.
